New research project with Imagining futures

Seeing Berlin Anew' is a project that aims to document the experiences and perspectives of Berlin's newcomers (migrants and refugees) through creative documentation of everyday activities and socio-cultural interactions and settings

Seeing Berlin Anew' is a project that aims to document the experiences and perspectives of Berlin's newcomers (migrants and refugees) through creative documentation of everyday activities and socio-cultural interactions and settings: conflict and coexistence; inclusion; belonging; and the rhetoric of identity and security. The primary output of the project will be a publication that explores Berlin at different scales - from the home to the neighbourhood to the city - presenting a collection of drawings and creative writing informed by the newcomers' point of view - with chapters in which newcomers will share their personal experiences of seeing Berlin as a new home and seeing their old cities through the prism of Berlin with their sense of belonging.

The project will be the second collaboration with Imagining Futures through un/archived pasts at Exter Univerity.
